BCPTWO is a voluntary service organisation formed in 1985 to assist the Bengaluru City Traffic Police in managing traffic, promoting road safety, and spreading awareness among the public.
The organisation was established in 1985 through a Gazette order of the Govt. of Karnataka and formally began operations on 30 August 1985 with the objective of supporting road safety and traffic regulation.
BCP-TWO operates under the guidance of the Bengaluru Traffic Police and within the broader policing framework, with the Commissioner of Police serving as the Chief Patron.
It is the country’s only uniformed voluntary service organisation dedicated exclusively to traffic management, awareness, road safety, road engineering for over four decades.
The headquarters is located at the Traffic Management Centre, Infantry Road, Bengaluru.
Any resident of Bengaluru who meets the eligibility criteria and has a genuine interest in public service can apply.

No. Traffic Wardens serve voluntarily and do not receive any remuneration.

The process includes application scrutiny, an interview, background verification, training, and an oath administered by the Commissioner of Police.
Traffic Wardens assist the Traffic Police in managing traffic, ensuring pedestrian safety, creating awareness, providing assistance to the Bengaluru Traffic Police during HE President of India, Honarable Prime Minister of India and other VVIP & VIP Visit to Bengaluru, New Year’s Eve, Various Marathons, Other Festivals and bandobast, and reporting violations.
Wardens are expected to contribute at least 4 hours per week or 16 hours per month.
Traffic Wardens assist the Traffic Police in managing traffic, ensuring pedestrian safety, creating awareness, providing assistance to the Bengaluru Traffic Police during HE President of India, Honarable Prime Minister of India and other VVIP & VIP Visit to Bengaluru, New Year’s Eve, Various Marathons, Other Festivals and bandobast, and reporting violations.
Yes. They support traffic regulation during festivals, elections, VVIP visits, sporting events, and large public gatherings.
Yes. Wardens must wear the official uniform provided by TWO while on duty.
Yes. Selected candidates undergo a structured two-day training programme before deployment.
Yes. Wardens attend Monthly Zonal Meetings and bimonthly Division meetings to strengthen discipline, coordination, and teamwork.
Yes. Selected wardens participate in Independence Day and Republic Day parade contingents.
Yes, Traffic Wardens are required to attend monthly parade. Selected Traffic Wardens also participate in the Republic Day and Independence Day Parade at the Sam Manekshaw Parade Grounds every year and have won prizes for best marching.
Yes. BCP-TWO runs extensive road safety awareness programmes for schools, colleges, corporates, and the general public.
It is a flagship programme focused on educating school children about road safety and responsible road usage.
Yes. Sessions are conducted for college students, corporate employees, and professional drivers to promote safe driving behaviour.
Yes. An engineering wing studies traffic issues and provides recommendations to improve road safety and traffic flow.
Yes. Wardens actively supported citizens and police during lockdowns, awareness campaigns, and public safety initiatives.
The overarching goal is to promote road safety, support traffic regulation, and encourage responsible behaviour among road users.
